The Foundation’s primary purpose is to support the preservation and activities of the Dzogchen Lineage, for the benefit of all beings. It endeavors to make these precious teachings more accessible to modern society.
The Foundation takes its name from the great Buddhist master, Shri Singha—Glorious Lion—one of the founders of the Dzogchen Lineage. The masters of the Dzogchen Lineage have unwaveringly endeavored to protect, study and transmit the teachings of Buddha with the utmost authenticity. This lineage is the pinnacle and heart of the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism, and has a very long and rich history comprised of masters who can be traced back to the Buddha Shakyamuni. Currently the Foundation is focusing its efforts on the establishment of the Dzogchen Retreat Center USA, under the spiritual guidance of Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche, a 33rd generation lineage holder of the Dzogchen Lineage. Additional Foundation projects include the creation of new Dzogchen Dharma Centers, the Dzogchen Shri Singha University and Dzogchen Monastery in the USA, as well as on-going help for children, monks and nuns in Tibet.
